Death of Sister Agostina Cheong Kit Shau F.D.C.C.
On 16 November 1980 God called to her eternal reward Sister Agostina Cheong Kit Shau.
She was 70 years of age and has spent 49 years in religious life.
Sister Agostina was born in Macao of a pagan family and embraced the Catholic faith while attending Pui Chin Canossian School there.
She was very grateful to God for this grace. Later when it was crowned by the call to religious life with the Canossian Sisters, she was untiring in teaching the catechism in Macao, in the parish, in the school and in the orphanage.
Her health gave way and in 1967 she was transferred to Hong Kong for rest and later for lighter work. After some years, her health having improved, she returned to Macao. Later when it deteriorated again she was transferred back to Hong Kong and was care for in the Infirmary in Caine Road.
She had a strong sense of belonging and always insisted on
being present with the community. God satisfied with wish, for the annual
scheduled Mass for the Departed Canossian Sisters on 17 November was also her
funeral Mass. She was indeed present with the Canossian Sisters from all the
houses in Hong Kong, living and dead.
