Death of Mother Magdalen Teresa Pozzan F.D.C.C.
Mother Magdalen Teresa Pozzan of the Canossian Sisters, passed peacefully away on 22 October 1975, at the infirmary of the Canossian Convent, Caine Road, at 6:30pm, aged 93.
Mother Teresa was born in the Vicenza Diocese (Venetia) in 1882.
She came from a family that gave four daughters to the Canossian Congregation. All four volunteered for Missionary work in the Far East, and all were sent to the Hankow Mission, Hupeh - except the youngest of them, who died when still in the noviceship at Pavia.
Mother Teresa joined her sisters in Hankow in 1906. There she worked as a nurse in the mission hospital until the exodus of all the missionaries from China.
On arriving here, she was first assigned to St. Mary’s, Kowloon, as Community Nurse, then to Macao, and finally, from 1961 till her death in the infirmary here, “to pray for China.” Prayer had become her chief occupation.
Now the Canossian Pozzan Quartet has been reunited in Heaven!
